Ralph spent much less time on Return of the Jedi than the previous two movies.

"After the film was finished I was asked to complete several additional paintings to fill out a portfolio.

You might notice that in some of my paintings from Return of the Jedi the characters look very much like their filmed counterparts, this is why."

Many of Ralph's ideas were realised almost exactly as he had designed; most notably Jabba's palace and sail-barge remained completely faithful to his sketches.
