Ralph was joined on Battlestar by two of his fellow Star Wars alumni; Joe Johnston and John Dykstra. All were signed with the proviso that they would be released immediately if they wanted to work on 'Star Wars II'.

Mark Hamill was also apparently offered the role of Commander Adama but declined.
